THORNTON, Colorado — Two people died Sunday morning at a Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Thornton, though details of the incident are still unknown.

The Thornton Police Department and other agencies now operate around the Federal Heights Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Halls along 900 blocks of the Milky Way near the intersection of Interstate 25 and West 88th Street. .

Thornton police confirmed there had been a homicide at the location but said there were no active threats.Two adults died at the scene, police said.

ABC News has confirmed that the Thornton Fire Department has responded to a reported structural fire at a Kingdom Hall. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered not a fire, but rather a “domestic problem”.

According to a Denver 7 reporter at the Kingdom Hall, there is a large police presence at the scene.

A suspicious device was found at the scene and the Adams County Sheriff’s Department’s Hazardous Materials Division is currently investigating what it might be, police said.

Adams County Fire and Rescue said it was a domestic incident but did not elaborate on it.
