Man arrested after fatal shooting in Lake Worth

A man is facing charges involving first-degree murder after a fatal shooting early Sunday outside Las Flores restaurant in Lake Worth, CBS12 is reporting.

Nelson Hernandez Mena is charged with attempted and aggravated assault with a firearm, the television station reported.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 900 block of Lake Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Sunday to find two men who had been shot.

Deputies say 20-year-old Juan Cruz died on scene. The other victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies said the shooting followed an altercation inside the restaurant at 913 Lake Ave., according to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Teri Barbera.

The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
